This week, Box Office saw 4 releases; amongst them is TV actress Deepshikha Nagpal’s Yeh Dooriyan. The story revolves around Simi (played by Deepshikha), a divorcee who is living a life of a successful choreographer along with her two children, this is when Raj (Kaishav Arora) enters into Simi’s life. Raj is an unmarried model who loves Simi but doesn’t want to marry her. Neither does he want to accept Simi’s children.

Through this film, Deepshikha has tried to raise a question upon the stereotypical outlook of our society towards divorced women, and the question is indeed valid, however the story she has written/produced/directed to convey her message is an excruciatingly boring one. Yeh Dooriyan has nothing new or unique, out of the various departments that Deepshikha has tried to handle though this film, acting is the only part she has got right.
