Gali Gali Chor Hai is a filmy take on the fight against corruption that activist Anna Hazare had kick started sometime last year. Though it released a tad late given the premise of the film, it was expected to make some noise at the box-office for its content. But unfortunately, the film couldn’t manage a decent opening.
The film opened with a poor 15% opening which can be diabolical for it. Multiplex audience didn’t pick it at all and there are even reports of cancelled shows of the film. The figure has to escalate if the movie desires to complete at least a week’s run at the theatres.
According to sources, Gali Gali has apparently netted less than Rs. 1 Crore on its opening day. Approximately, the all India collections will be near about Rs. 80 – 90 Lacs. The weekend will more likely close at around Rs. 3 Crores collections. The film did a decent business in Madhya Pradesh as the film is based out of Bhopal (capital of M.P.). Looking at the figures, it has to be said that the film will have to buck up or it won’t be long before it is taken off from the theatres.
