It’s Hrithik Roshan Vs Christian Bale at the Asian Film Awards

Wednesday, 08 February 2012 13:23 Moumita Bhattacharjee
At foreign award ceremonies, Hindi films don't always make it to the competitive category and when they do, they fail to clinch the trophy which is not unlikely, as in these shows content is given more weightage than popularity and we hardly invest on the content of a film. So, yet again an Indian movie has been pitted against a Hollywood film at the Asian Film Awards. It's Hrithik Roshan's Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara vs Oscar winner Christian Bale's “The Flowers Of War” in the Best Film Category.

Hrithik Roshan Vs Christian Bale

While Zindagi Naa... is a story about three friends who take a road trip and indulge in adventure, The Flowers of War is a period movie set in 1937's China during the second Sino-Japanese war. The latter is also China's official entry into the Best Foreign Film category at the Oscars.

That's not all for Zindagi... the film has also been nominated in the Best Production Design and Best Editing categories. Confirming the news, Ritesh Sidhwani, from Excel Entertainment, said “I am satisfied”. It feels great that after claiming Box Office rewards, the film is also getting critical acclaim alongside other big movies. But the acclaim for Bollywood doesn't stop here; Vidya Balan finds a place in the nominees for the Best Actor (F) for “The Dirty Picture” while A R Rahman has been nominated in Best Composer category for Rockstar. Ritesh Agarwal is nominated in the Best Visual Effects category for Ra.One.

We hope Zindagi Naa... and Vidya Balan manage to bring home the trophies, fingers crossed!
