Sanjay Leela Bhansali is an eccentric director. For him, his vision reigns supreme. The filmmaker is now gearing up to make his next movie Ram Leela with Kareena Kapoor. But this is not the reason why we are talking about him today. It is heard that Bhansali is gearing up to pay tribute to his mother through this film by naming Kareena’s character with her name - Leela Bhansali.

A source said that Bhansali had decided one of his female protagonists will be called Leela in his films. But he will only name his actress if she is worthy enough for it. It seems he thinks Kareena is the actress who can add credence to his mother’s name. The source also informed that the character of Leela has been conceptualized keeping in mind Bhansali’s mom. It is a known fact that Bhansali holds his mother in high esteem. He considers her to be the reason behind his success. So, you will find a reference to his mother in some of his movies like Helen in Khamoshi and Kirron Kher in Devdas.
Apart from paying tribute to his mother, Bhansali will also go back to his roots i.e. Gujarat. The film will be extensively shot in Kutch. This will be the first time that Bhansali will shoot a movie at actual locations as opposed to the fact that he always prefer to shoot films in a controlled environment of film studios/sets. All his movies from Devdas to Guzaarish were shot on the sets; I guess he has finally decided to wake up to the reality.
Now coming to Kareena, the actor has been asked to put on weight for the movie. She will commence the shoot after she wraps up Madhur Bhandarkar’s Heroine.
