Ranbir Kapoor wants his ‘friendship’ with Deepika Padukone to be perceived as real bonding and not a momentary publicity grabbing stunt for their film “Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani”. Hence, the lad has apparently made Anurag Basu postpone the release of Barfee to August 31 so that Deepika’s Cocktail with Saif Ali Khan doesn’t suffer its onslaught. Both the films were supposed to release on June 13.

Ever since Yeh Jawani Hai Deewani has been announced, Ranbir and Deepika made sure their past differences don’t come in the way of making this movie. They bonded well and now it seems have turned into best buddies. Now, what does a best bud do? Be ready to step down if she needs it and that’s what Ranbir did by pushing Barfee to a later date. Also, Cocktail nearly has no hype attached to it as opposed to Barfee which is creating waves already. So, Ranbir felt releasing both of them together might mess up the chances of Deepika’s film to do any better and like a true friend, he postponed the film.
Now, 2012 will be one year which will see bigger banners; big star cast movies than ever. So, every Friday is jam-packed. Similarly, Shrirish Kunder’s Joker was slated to release on August 31 which might now get pushed too. Well, we just hope Ranbir’s move helps Deepika’s Cocktail taste better!
