I guess the affect of the name Rowdy Rathore has rubbed on to Prabhudeva and his crew hard, otherwise how will you explain their complete disregard for the local norms to shoot in a heritage site in Hampi? As a result, Akshay Kumar, Sonakshi Sinha, and others were hurled out of the area for flouting rules by Hampi World Heritage Area Management Authority (HWHAMA).
The heritage site in question here is under UNESCO and Archaeological Survey of India’s (ASI) supervision. According to their norms, two wheelers are not allowed in that place. But the crew of Rowdy Rathore drove in 20 vehicles into the site to shoot their portions. When HWHAMA got wind of it, they rushed to the place and ordered them to vacate the place immediately. The team had to then leave the premises in a hurry.
Talking about the incident, D.R Ashok (Commissioner of HWHAMA) told a local daily that they annulled producer’s license and forced the team to wrap up for not abiding by the rules. He also mentioned that it was ASI who had asked them to take action and they just followed the orders. He added that this incident has sparked the need to reform the rules to avoid such mishaps again. It is heard that the crew had permission from ASI but not from HWHAMA which is responsible to take care of the monuments in Hampi. Ashok informed that from now on, apart from securing permissions, filmmakers will also have to obtain NOC’s from these departments to conduct any shoots.
