Aamir Khan isn’t a person who just does things for the heck of it. When he decided to turn to small screen, he didn’t want to be just another celebrity TV host like Amitabh Bachchan, Shahrukh Khan or Salman Khan. He came up with an issue based talk show Satyamev Jayate which created uproar with its first episode itself which was on female foeticide. But just broaching a topic wasn’t what Aamir had intended with the show. After learning about the matter at hand, he decided to pursue it and requested for a meeting with Rajasthan’s Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot. Recently, he met the CM and came out with positive feedback.

At the end of the show, Aamir had asked people to join his campaign to talk to the Rajasthan government and request it to take strict action against the doctors who indulge in sex determination tests and illegal abortions to kill a girl child. The sting operation that was done on a few doctors exposed the racket but they were let off free. He had thus asked for a meeting with the CM to discuss the matter. On Wednesday, he met Gehlot and had a chat over it. Speaking over the conversation he had with Aamir, CM said that the actor’s show has created mass awareness about this plaguing issue. He thanked Aamir for concentrating on something other than films even though he is so busy. Female foeticide issues needed a boost as such and Aamir did a great job with Satyamev Jayate. Aamir on his part said that he urged the minister to take action against those doctors and nab them.
